Revoked

My friendship was nothing shy of a pure gift running over like a lavish fountain. Who required your hand to return value? Consider the magnanimity; a direct payment for having captured my fading interest. Even a dog knows how to carry an egg gingerly with plenty of bite force to spare. Yet your hulkish manner would have none of it. At the first moment of cheap impulse, you sought to inspect the inside of a thing that should have remained whole. Fractions of a priceless offering will not be restored. Every shattered piece cries out to me for vengeance. Now this thing will be enforced upon you in a humiliating way. I will trace an unbearable penalty across your eyes in the shape of a sleep mask. Over the brow, across the nose bridge, and circling the cheek bones. You will see what could have been in spectacular color, and it will be delivered to another of much nobler character. Ants will file in to your habitation to war over crumbs. Every delight will be stripped clean. Bead baskets will empty. Bowls of fruit will become wash pots. Were you not told how princes of the earth dangle from my necklace like charms? And you had me in derision? Mockery welled underneath your tongue like the asp of serpents. It will be drained of you and turned into a drink of poison spit for the things you love first. I will make you watch your darlings put down what they believe to be an elixir of great benefit. Black paint upon black canvas is my new commandment. Swirl tar against midnight with a commission to render pastels. I will sit you down and insist upon color over your tears. You will never be permitted to leave the studio until it is accomplished. Look into my eyes that pool a glistening obsidian. With the passage of eons, you will pull color from an opaque wilderness and learn temperance. Even if I have to lash your mind past millennia, you will pull glorious hues from an orbit of thick darkness.
